How Can Ye Escape The Damnation Of Hell?
Modern Christianity asks, "Are you going to heaven?" In Matthew 23:33, Jesus asked this question,
"…how can ye escape the damnation of hell?" The Bible declares to us that unless are sins are forgiven we shall not escape the damnation of Hell.
Read on to find out the answer to the most important question and decision in your life taken straight from the Bible! Isn't eternity worth a few minutes of your time?
Answer yes or no to the following questions. Judge yourself, be honest. Have you ever lied, stolen, killed, used God's name in vain, or committed adultery?
God sees half truths as lies "…all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Rev 21:8)
Taking something as small as a candy bar is stealing. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God…Nor thieves,…" (1 Cor 6:9-10)
God sees hatred as murder. "Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." (I John 3:15)
Cursing God's name is Blasphemy, "…the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." (Exod 20:7)
Lust is adultery. "…whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matt 5:28)
All those things are SIN. "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." (I John 3:4)
This was only half of the "Ten Commandments," yet, if you have broken just one of these commandments and only one time in your whole life you are guilty of breaking them all. "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (James 2:10)
According to these Bible verses God sees a lying, thieving, murdering, blasphemous, adulterous heart. To keep all Ten you would have to always be pure in heart, motive, thought, word and deed. No one but the Son of God did or can do that. "Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?" (Prov 20:9) "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one…For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Rom 3:10,23)
Because of this you are a sinner by choice! Therefore you have stored up God's wrath, which will be revealed on Judgment Day. You are guilty of sinning against God Himself, and because you have a conscience, you have sinned with knowledge. Is it not true that every time you lied, stole, etc., you knew it was wrong? Even people, who claim to be atheist, know when they have sinned.
The punishment is death and hell! Read carefully. "For the wages of sin is death…" (Rom 6:23) "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Rev 21:8) "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:" (Matt 25:41) "…and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Rev 20:10) "So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." (Matt 13:49-50) "…cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame." (Luke 16:24) "…into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." (Mark 9:43-44) "But the heavens and the earth, which aare now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." (2 Pet 3:7) "…Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matt 22:13) "…suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." (Jude 1:7) "…of eternal damnation:" (Mark 3:29)
If there is a certain sin in your life that you are holding onto you must confess and forsake it. "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. (Prov 28:13)
You will have no excuse. "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." (Rom 1:20-32)
When you die you will face God's Judgment. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" (Heb 9:27) "Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained…" (Acts 17:31) "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." (Rom 14:12)
The only thing keeping you this very second from your eternal fate is the fact that you are still alive. Yet, statistics say 3 people die every second, 180 every minute, so since you started reading this tract approximately, 1,350 souls have passed into eternity. "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." (Prov 27:1) "But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee…" (Luke 12:20) "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." (James 4:14) "…the soul that sinneth, it shall die." (Ezek 18:4)
Heaven will fly away, but Hell will find you. You might say, "God is good and loving; therefore, He will let me go." Would that work in civil law with a judge? No! If a judge turns his back to injustice, then he is corrupt. God is a just Judge: "For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (Eccl 12:14) "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matt 7:21-23) "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46)
Good works will not pay the fine. "Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Eph 2:9) "For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." (Eccl 7:20) None of us could ever earn enough merit to have our sins forgiven. Forgiveness of sins does not come by:
Religion, (church membership, attendance) "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Prov 14:12)
Rituals, (communion, mass, baptism, fasting, praying, etc.); "Not by works of righteousness which we have done…" (Titus 3:5) "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." (Isa 59:2)
Self-Righteousness, (living a clean life, being good), "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." (Isa 64:6)
Nor by working to keep the Law from now on. "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." (Gal 2:16)
The fact is you are condemned already. "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (John 3:17-19)
You must have a changed heart for, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jer 17:9) "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." (Mark 7:21-23)
Friend, you must in sorrow of heart turn from your sins and turn to God seeking His mercy in full intention of all your heart, soul, strength, and mind to serve and please Him. This is called repentance. "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." (2 Cor 7:10) "…Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die…For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye." (Ezek 18:30-32)
Repentance comes before salvation. "…repent ye, and believe the gospel." (Mark 1:15) "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3) "…repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21) "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" (Acts 17:30) "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Prov 28:13) "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isa 55:7-9)
The Bible says God came in the flesh as the Son of God, Jesus Christ. "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh…." (1 Tim 3:16) Because of this he was sinless.
You must receive the righteousness of Jesus Christ. "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Cor 6:9-11)
He took upon Himself our sins to make us righteous. "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Cor 5:21) "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus." (Rom 3:25-26) "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." (Rom 10:4)
Jesus Christ who rose from the dead not only died, but He suffered for our sins. "…God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…" (Acts 3:18-19) "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth." (Isa 53:3-7)
Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross for the sins of the world once for all. "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" (1 Pet 3:18)
Through His blood: "and without shedding of blood is no remission." (Heb 9:22) by faith in His blood. "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;" (Rom 3:25)
His blood washes: "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood," (Rev 1:5)
His blood delivers, redeems and forgives: "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:" (Col 1:13-14)
His blood justifies: (Just-as-if-I-never-sinned) "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." (Rom 5:6-9)
You can't buy it: "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold…But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" (1 Pet 1:18-19) "Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Mark 8:37) "They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:" (Ps 49:6-7)
You may be asking, "What must I do to have my sins forgiven so I can be saved!!!?" "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Rom 10:8-13)
The Word of God says you must be born again. "…Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3)
So you must believe and obey the Gospel. "…the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:" (II Th 1:7,8) "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; "And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" (1 Cor 15:1- 4)
If the Lord is convicting you of your sins right now, humble yourself and call out to God for Him to forgive you and save you and He will. "This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles." (Ps 34:6)
It is as simple as that if you really sincerely mean it in true repentance of heart. "Harden not your heart…" (Ps 95:8) "Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;" (Rom 2:4-5) If you are not sure or you do not yet understand how to have your sins forgiven and escape the damnation of hell, read this tract again and again. Ask God to spare your life until you can know how to be saved. Seek and pray for God to show you and help you understand and He will if you're sincere. "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Pet 3:9)
You must receive the Lord Jesus Christ. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12)
You may not have another chance. "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isa 55:6-7)
God will save you and He will keep you saved. "Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." (1 Pet 1:5) "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" (Phil 1:6)
Don't let your pride send you to Hell. "The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God…" (Ps 10:4) "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." (James 4:6)
Grace is God's-Riches-At-Christ's-Expense. Grace is unmerited favor, getting something you don't deserve. Faith is (Forsaking-All-I-Trust-Him) "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" (Eph 2:8)
Friend, I want you to know that God loved you enough to send His Son to die so you would not have to parish. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
Make sure you are saved. "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?" (2 Cor 13:5) "They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." (Titus 1:16)
You can know you have eternal life! "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." (I John 5:13)
